ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday chaired a meeting of federal cabinet and said that the attack on foreign tourists in Gilgit-Baltistan was the worst act of terrorism against national sovereignty.

Sources said the federal cabinet, which met with PM Nawaz in chair, condemned the Gilgit attack on tourist and expressed grief and sorrow.

Nawaz Sharif has directed the Minister of Interior to ensure arrest of the terrorists involved in the attack on tourists.

On the occasion, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan briefed the cabinet meeting that efforts were being made to nab the killers.

He said there are reports that terrorists approached the tourist camp through a guide who provided them necessary information. Nisar informed the cabinet that one of the guides and a tourist are being interrogated.
