PM Shahbaz Sharif congratulates Prince Karim Aga Khan IV on his birthdayISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has congratulated His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV on his birthday.

In a tweet on Tuesday, the prime minister said that we acknowledge, appreciate and remain grateful for his wonderful contributions to the cause of education and socio-economic development in Pakistan and around the world.

“Congratulations to His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV on his birthday. We acknowledge, appreciate & remain grateful for his wonderful contributions to the cause of education & socio-economic development in Pakistan and around the world,” Shahbaz Sharif wrote on Twitter.

Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, turned 86 today, is the 49th and current Imam of Nizari Ismailism, a denomination of Ismailism within Shia Islam with an estimated 10–15 million adherents (10–12% of the world’s Shia Muslim population).

Aga Khan IV is the Founder and Chairman of the Aga Khan Development Network, one of the largest private development networks in the world.

The organization works toward improvement of the environment, health, education, architecture, culture, microfinance, rural development, disaster reduction, the promotion of private-sector enterprise and the revitalization of historic cities.
