ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan Mitsuhiro Wada called on the Federal Minister of Energy Engrineer Khurram Dastgir Khan in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Showing satisfaction at the current level of excellent bilateral ties, the minister appreciated the longstanding engagement of Japan with Pakistan for improving its economic and social infrastructure.

The ambassador expressed gratitude for Khurram Dastgir’s presence at the funeral of the late former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe.

The federal minister remarked that I was touched by the kind gesture of people of Japan, they have been sending letters and money to Pakistan’s embassy in Japan.

The minister lauded the Japanese investment, particularly in the energy sector.

Khurram Dastgir highlighted that Pakistan’s energy sector offers vast opportunities for investment specially in renewables.

The Japanese ambassador expressed appreciation for the solar initiative of government and mentioned Japanese companies are interested.

The envoy recalled that the government of Japan had been investing in Pakistan in the power sector and reassured that Japan would further enhance its investment portfolio in Pakistan.
