QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch presented the budget worth more than Rs 198 billion for the financial year 2013-14 in the provincial assembly on Thursday.

In the budget for the next fiscal year, the provincial government has announced to increase 15 percent in the salaries of government employees and in the pension of retired government employees.

The provincial government has allocated over Rs 43 billion for development sector while a sum of Rs 34 billion has been earmarked for education sector.

Over Rs 16 billion have been allocated for maintenance of law and order in the province. Over Rs 11 billion will be spent on health sector while over Rs 5 billion have been allocated for agriculture projects.

For capital expenditures Rs 37 billion and 470 million while for revenue expenditures over Rs 117 billion have been earmarked.

The Balochistan government has allocated a sum of over Rs 8 billion for new communication schemes. Over Rs 1 billion and 8 corer have been allocated for development program of irrigation sector. Likewise, Rs 2 billion and 60 corer have been allocated for livestock sector.

In the provincial budget, a sum of Rs 1 billion and 50 corer have been earmarked for fisheries sector. A sum of Rs 4 billion and 50 corer have been allocated for public health services sector.

A sum of Rs 4 billion and 50 corers have been set-aside for investment in mineral sector and Rs 2 billion and 50 corers for investment in power sectors.
