ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan WADA Mitsuhiro called on the Federal Minister for Railways and Aviation Khawaja Saad Rafique in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Welcoming the delegate, Khawaja Saad Rafique discussed various mutual bilateral mutual issues including Pakistan-Japan long standing relationship which is marked by cordiality and friendship.

The federal minister said that Pakistan attaches high importance to its relation with Japan and is desirous of further enhancing it in all fields of mutual interests especially in Railways and Aviation.

Khawaja Saad Rafique also said that Japanese companies are always welcome to invest in Pakistan for which every support and cooperation will be given to them. He also thanked the ambassador on Japanese plan to provide emergency assistance of US$ 7 million for flood victims.

The Japanese Ambassador WADA Mitsuhiro conveyed his deepest sympathies to the government and the people of Pakistan over the devastation caused by the recent floods and offered condolences on the loss of life due to unprecedented monsoon rains in the Country.

The envoy also appreciated the efforts of the Aviation Ministry for allowing airplanes containing Japanese passengers evacuated from Afghanistan.

WADA Mitsuhiro also showed keen interest in Railways and Aviation industries in Pakistan and expressed desire to work with the government of Pakistan in these industries.
