ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan’s armed forces including Army, Navy, and Air Force continue to carry out flood relief efforts throughout the Country.

Pakistan Army

Pakistan Army Aviation Efforts

So far 338 Army Aviation helicopters sorties have been flown to various areas for evacuation of stranded people.

In last 24 hours, 31 sorties have been flown and evacuated 483 stranded individuals and delivered 41 tons of relief items to the flood affectees.

Moreover, up till now 3,585 Stranded Individuals have been evacuated through these heli sorties.

Relief Camps/Relief Items Collection Points

So far 147 Relief Camps and 284 Relief Items Collection Points have been established across the country for collection and onward distribution of relief stores for flood affectees.

Donations

Uptill now 3,570 tons of food items along with 463 tons of sustenance items and 1,778,212 medicine items have been collected so far.

However, 3,021 tones of food 407 tones of sustenance items and 1,480,000 medicine items have been distributed uptill now.

Moreover, 232,811 ration packs alongside 1,617 tons of ration were distributed by Pakistan Army.

Medical Relief

More than 250 medical camps established so far in which more than 93,000 patients have been treated all across the Country and provided 3-5 days’ medicine

Major Activities

Construction of Saggu bridge at N-95 (DI Khan) is in progress, abutments completed and 100% bridge stores has reached the bridge construction site.

Release cut provided at Manchhar lake to reduce pressure in Sehwan.

Pakistan Navy

Pakistan Navy Relief and Rescue Efforts

Pakistan Navy has also conducted 38 helicopters sorties, rescued 10,956 personnel, 807 families provided with shelter, distributed 980 tons of ration, 300 kg medicines and treated 23,544 patients across the Country.

Pakistan Air Force (PAF)

PAF Relief and Rescue Efforts

Pakistan Air Force has conducted 152 air sorties, through which rescued 1,521 personnel, distributed 2763 tents, more than 1,00,000 food packets, 1,280 Tons of ration, and established 16 tent cities, 41 relief camps and 35 free medical camps in which 27,156 patients have been treated.

Flood Casualties

So far 24 people have lost their lives and 115 people got injured across the Country due to flash flood during the last 24 hours.

Overall, 1,314 people have so far been killed and 12,703 got injured.

Weather Forecast

Meanwhile, the rain/thundershower (isolated heavy falls) is expected in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Upper Punjab & Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) on Monday; however, mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the Country.

In next 24 hours, partly cloudy weather with rain/thundershower is expected at few locations in upper KPK, North East Punjab, GB and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
