KARACHI: Mazar-e-Quaid has been shutdown for security reasons two days after the historic residence of Pakistan’s founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Ziarat was destroyed in militants attack , Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Monday.

On Saturday, some terrorists fired rockets at the 121-year-old historic building at Ziarat, about 120 kms from Quetta city of Pakistan’s Southwestern Balochistan province in which wooden structure of the building and its fixtures were completely destroyed. However‚ museum as well as historical documents in the residency remained safe in the attack.

The banned outfit Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed the responsibility of the attack at the Quaid-e-Azam residency at Ziarat.

District Police Officer Ziarat told media that six bombs were also recovered from the site of the incident and defused. He said that the attackers also opened fire following the rocket attack as a result a police man outside the residency was martyred. The terrorists managed to escape from the crime scene.
