ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has strongly condemned the hijacking of the UAE-flagged Cargo Vessel “Rawabi” by the Yemeni Houthis.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said that such blatant acts not only threaten the freedom of maritime navigation but also endanger international trade and security of the region.

“Pakistan expresses its solidarity with the UAE and calls for the immediate release of the vessel and its crew,” the Spokesperson said.

On January 2, Houthis hijacked the UAE-flagged Rwabee carrying 11 Crew Members from five Countries including India, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Myanmar, and the Philippines near the Port City of Hodeidah in Yemen.
