PM Imran Khan hails NCOC & health administrations over successful COVID vaccination

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has lauded the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) and the concerned health institutions on successfully achieving the target of administering COVID doses to 70 million individuals in 2021.

“We have completed our target of fully vaccinating 7 crore of our people by the end of 2021,” the prime minister said that in a statement on Friday.

The prime minister said that to achieve the target, the federal government alone procured COVID vaccines worth almost Rs 250 billion and provided free vaccines to citizens in all the provinces.

Imran Khan also acknowledged and thanked the tireless and coordinated work done by the NCOC, federal and provincial administrations, and health teams to ensure the success of the government’s vaccination program.

Earlier while giving detail of the COVID vaccination drive, the Chairman NCOC Asad Umar told that Islamabad leads with 77 percent fully vaccinated population, Punjab 51 percent Gilgit-Baltistan 46 percent, Azad Jammu and Kashmir 45 percent, Balochistan 42 percent, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 41 percent, and Sindh 37 percent.

Asad Umar said that 46 percent of the total eligible population is fully vaccinated and 63 percent has received at least one dose.
