ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The allied parties have agreed to extend support to the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Joint Session of the Parliament to be summoned to legislate on electoral reforms.

Briefing media in Islamabad on Monday evening after a meeting of the members of the government’s allied parties with Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that the allied parties of the government have expressed full confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan and the PTI.

The information minister said that the entire leadership of the allied parties including Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM-Pakistan), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), and Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) was present in the meeting, and are standing with the government.

The minister said that the reservations of the allies were listened to and addressed.

Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that it was unanimously decided that a Joint Sitting of the Parliament would be summoned for Wednesday.

The information minister said that electoral reforms bills regarding the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and the introduction of I-voting for Overseas Pakistanis in the next elections will be tabled in the Session.
