ISLAMABAD: The elected representatives and general public have showed mix reaction on the Federal Budget for Fiscal year 2013-14 terming it people friendly while few said there was a room for a better budget.

Some welcomed the exemption of Hybrid cars upto 1200cc from duty while duties on Hybrid vehicles upto 1200 to 1800 CC to be reduced by 25 percent.

Deserving women hailed the Federal Budget for getting increase in the amount of Income Support Programme.

The retired government employees also hailed the budget for getting raise in pension upto 10 percent and step of government for minimum pension to be Rs 5000 from Rs 3000.

Senator Syed Zafar Ali Shah said the budget is balanced and positive in the prevailing circumstances.

He said the proposal to abolish discretionary funds of Prime Minister is very encouraging.

Member National Assembly Jamshaid Dasti said the budget is best possible keeping in view the economic plight as the Government has allocated sufficient amount for overcoming the power crisis.

He said government servants should be provided relief enabling them to fight price hike.

Referring to announcement of Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský, Ukrinform reports that Czech Republic will continue to provide support to Ukraine to repel and stop Russian aggression.
