Business16% surge in foreign direct investment into Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The net foreign direct investment (FDI) into Pakistan has increased by 16% on a year-on-year (YoY) basis in the Financial Year 2020-21 and on a month-on-month (MoM) basis, it’s a 108% increase, according to the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood.

In a Twitter statement on Thursday, the adviser said that the total investment was US$ 236 million in September 2021 while it was recorded US$ 203 million in September 2020.

“Inshallah, we are expecting more FDI in the upcoming months in the different sectors and I am sure it will create more job opportunities,” the adviser wrote.
