Government of Pakistan‘Ehsaas Koi Bhooka Na Soye’ initiative expanded to Multan, Gujranwala & Lahore

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Under the umbrella of Ehsaas, Prime Minister Imran Khan has launched the expansion of the ‘Ehsaas Koi Bhooka Na Soye (EKBNS)’ initiative to three more cities including Multan, Gujranwala, and Lahore.

Under the initiative, cooked meals are distributed among needy people, especially labourers, daily wage earners, women, and children.

While inaugurating four food trucks for these cities in Islamabad on Friday afternoon, the prime minister directed to ensure quality of food at all cost.

The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Social Protection Dr. Sania Nishtar and the Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar briefed the prime minister on the expansion plan of the free food service in Multan, Gujranwala, and Lahore districts.

It is pertinent to mention that now the food will be distributed through 16 mobile trucks in various cities across Pakistan.

The federal government is planning to increase the number of food trucks to 40 and the program to 29 cities by October 2021 to provide free of cost meals to the poor people.

The program ‘Ehsas Koi Bhooka Na Soye’ is a step toward making Pakistan a welfare state in true sense.

Under the initiative, around 40, 000 people will be provided free of cost meals on daily basis.

In the initial phase, Prime Minister Imran Khan formally launched the Ehsaas “Koi Bhooka Na Soye” initiative in Islamabad on March 10, 2021.

The EKBNS is founded on a public-private partnership whereby the Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal is responsible for the operations of truck kitchens and the Saylani Welfare International Trust for the provision of meals.
