ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO) and the Women Journalists Association of Pakistan on Saturday cut a cake to mark Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day celebrations.

While addressing the function, the President Women Journalists Association (WJA) Fauzia Rana said that 14th August is the most important day in our lives.

Fauzia Rana said that on this day, we emerged on the world map as a free nation. This day is the center of our individual and collective happiness. She said we got Pakistan after many sacrifices.

The President WJA added that today again we need a spirit like Tehreek-e-Azadi Pakistan.

“We have to move away from nationalities and become a nation again,” she said.

The Executive Director SSDO Syed Kausar Abbas said that 14th August is a very important day for us because our elders had made unparalleled sacrifices in the cause of this freedom.

Syed Kausar Abbas said that we need to move society forward for the better. He added we have to make solidarity our principle for the security of our country. He said the young generation needs to embrace science and technology and keep up with the world.

The Vice-President of the Women Journalists Association of Pakistan Maira Imran said that 14th August 1947 was a day full of the blood of martyrs. She said Muslims had mapped out a separate homeland for their future generations, which is why we are breathing in the open air today.

Maira Imran added we all have a responsibility to protect Pakistan and establish peace in Pakistan. She said that this country belongs to all of us, we are all responsible for it. She said that we must protect the freedom of our homeland with brotherhood, unity, and faith.

Maira Imran said that young people in particular are the vanguard of this Country. She added that they have to prove by their behavior that they are conscious citizens of a serious and dignified nation.
