Government of PakistanPM Imran Khan saddened over killing of Pakistanis in Canada

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed sorrow and grief over the killing of a Muslim Pakistani-origin Canadian family in London City of Canada’s Ontario Province.

In London, a man driving a pickup truck rammed into and killed four members of a Muslim family.

In a statement on Tuesday, the prime minister condemned the mass murder perpetrated against a Muslim Pakistani-origin Canadian family in London, Ontario.

The prime minister said that this gruesome incident reflects the growing Islamophobia in the Western world, which needs to be countered holistically by the international community.

Meanwhile, the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressed solidarity with the grieved family.

Justin Trudeau wrote on Twitter that Islamophobia has no place in any of our communities. “This hate is insidious and despicable – and it must stop,” he said.

In a statement, the Pakistan High Commission also offered its deepest condolences to the family of the victims.

The High Commission said that the initial reports indicate that the deceased persons were the target of a terrorist attack rooted in Islamophobia.

The Pakistan High Commission requested both the provincial and the federal governments for facts of the case and called for stern action against the perpetrator(s).

Upon instruction of the High Commissioner of Pakistan, the Consul General Toronto is visiting London, Ontario today to offer condolences and all possible support on behalf of the government of Pakistan.

“May Almighty Allah grant eternal peace to the departed souls and enable all their loved ones to bear this irreparable loss. Aameen,” the statement said.
