After a really long wait, Honda is finally revealing the new model of Honda City. While most of the fans expected to see the 7th generation City in Pakistan, the company has given a sad surprise by bringing forward the Honda City 6th generation in Pakistan. The 6th generation came into the international market almost seven years ago. However, it will step into the local market in the coming days.

Exterior

The overall exterior is not new for most Pakistanis. We have observed the same exterior for Honda Grace. As per the expected features, Honda City 6th generation will possibly have halogen headlamps with DRLs, chrome grille on the front (similar to Civic X), sharp accent heading back to the trunk from doors, and several other details based on the trim level. If we talk about the wheels, we can expect 15″ steel wheels on the base model, while alloys will possibly be available in the top variants. Moreover, chrome door handles will be available for top variants of the 6th generation City. On the other hand, the base model will have colored door handles.

Interior

Keeping in view the latest competition in the market, Honda City 6th generation may not impress you with anything new when it comes to interior. Honda has used a similar design as followed in Honda Fit. This means that although the interior looks great, it still dates back many years now. The major highlights include a double-din 7″ screen head-unit with Bluetooth connectivity on the upper models, while the base model will get a typical radio with a 3″ LCD display with phone connectivity. Additionally, we can expect a Multi-function steering wheel, and 4-6 speakers available inside the car.

Standard features include power windows with the auto door lock, power-folding side-view mirrors, keyless entry with push-button start, rear AC vents, 60;40 split rear seats with central armrest, leather or fabric seats with driver seat height adjustment, cruise control, tilt steering adjustment, front central armrest, USB ports will be available depending on trim levels.

Engine

If we talk about the engine, we can expect some improvements in the previously used engine. As expected, the new Honda City 6th generation will have two engine options – 1.5L SOHC i-Vtec inline 4 with approx. 118HP@6600 and 145NM of torque @4600, and 1.2L/ L12B which makes around 89HP and 114NM of torque. However, it is rumored that we may only get a 1.5L engine option this time.

Safety Features

The 6th generation Honda City uses Honda ACE (Advanced Compatibility Engineering) making the car a safer choice. We can expect to find safety features like Vehicle Stability Control, Traction control, Hill-start Assist, and ABS with EBD. Additional features may cover the reverse camera, parking sensors, and dual airbags.

Price In Pakistan

It is a tough call to make if the new Honda City 6th generation will be able to break the ongoing Toyota Yaris monopoly in the local market. While this is yet to be known, the expected price of the new Honda City will range from PKR 2.5 million to PKR 3.1 million based on the available trim levels.

To find out the official details and features of the new Honda City, stay tuned!
