KARACHI, Pakistan: President Dr. Arif Alvi has urged the nation to follow all COVID-19 related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as the third wave is far more contagious and dangerous than the previous ones.

“You can save your loved ones and fellow countrymen by simply adopting the precautionary measures”, the president said in a briefing held at the Governor House in Karachi on Saturday about the alarming rise in the number of COVID-19 cases.

In the meeting also attended by the Governor Sindh Imran Ismail and the Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, the Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar briefed the president about the surge in Coronavirus Cases across the Country.

The president was apprised that the number of critically-ill COVID-19 patients was more than 30% as compared to the figures in June 2020.

President Arif Alvi appealed to the nation to cooperate with the government and observe all SOPs devised to contain the spread of COVID-19.
