LAHORE, Pakistan: The former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani has passed away due to the COVID-19.

Nasir Durrani served in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the IGP from September 25, 2013 to March 16, 2017, and played a vital role in transforming the provincial police into an effective force.

Under the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) regime in the Centre, Nasir Durrani also served as the Chairman of the Punjab Police Reform Commission (PPRC).

The former IG KPK Police had been suffering from severe respiratory problems after being diagnosed with COVID-19. He had been on the ventilator at Mayo Hospital in Lahore for the last one month wherein he breathed his last on Monday.
