PakistanHand grenade attacks outside Karachi PAF base; one injured

KARACHI: At least one man was injured when unidentified miscreants hurled multiple grenades outside Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Base flyover located on Shara-e-Faisal of the city on Tuesday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

According to sources, some unidentified assailants hurled at least five grenades at the Faisal Flyover gate of the PAF base and fled away, however, reports are yet to be confirmed by the security agencies.

“It would be quite premature to comment on it as investigation into the attack was underway”, a police officer said. “We are trying to gather eyewitness accounts to nail down: What sort of vehicle(s) were the attackers driving? How did they look like? What were they wearing? What language did they speak?, and What were their targets?” he added.

Heavy contingents of law enforcement agencies who arrived at the scene to evaluate the damage are standing alert to ward off any secondary attacks.

Rangers, police, and PAF personnel have cordoned off the area beefing up the security at the entrances and exits of the base.
