ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan and Turkey have agreed to adopt a joint strategy at the international level on issues of mutual interest and to make joint efforts to further strengthen the bilateral cooperation, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.

The understanding was reached when the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Wednesday and met his Pakistani Counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

During the meeting, the two foreign ministers reviewed the entire gamut of Pakistan-Turkey bilateral relations and exchanged views on regional and international issues.

Expressing satisfaction over the nature of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Turkey, the two foreign ministers agreed to ensure the early implementation of the decisions taken at the meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) held in Islamabad.

The two foreign ministers also stressed the need to ensure the early implementation of the 71-point Strategic Economic Framework (SEF) between Pakistan and Turkey.

The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi apprised his Turkish Counterpart of the grave human rights violations committed by Indian forces in Indian Illegal Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and the threats posed to the regional peace.

Qureshi thanked the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu for his unwavering support for the Kashmir issue.

The two foreign ministers expressed concerns over the rising trend of Islamophobia and stressed for joint efforts to protect the Islamic values.

Earlier after his arrival at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Turkish foreign minister planted a sapling at the lawn of the Ministry.

"We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians.
