LAHORE: Addressing a news conference in Lahore, Arif Nizami said the caretaker government has entered into the final phase of transfer of power. Replying a question, he said it is the prerogative of the president to call the parliament’s session.

Arif Nizami said extra ordinary security measures were undertaken to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the general elections. He said the people of Pakistan had defeated the bullet through their ballot by ming turning out in record numbers for voting. The Information Minister called upon the political parties to respect each other’s mandate.
