Both sides were evidently well below the par in the first four PSL Seasons and ended up right at the bottom.

But it was Lahore Qalandars which took the biggest leap to the top and silenced its critics.

Lahore Qalandars had ended its PSL Campaigns in 2016 and 2017 with 5th spot while in 2018 and 2019, it finished at the very bottom.

However, with Sohail Akhtar as overall its 7th Captain, Qalandars in the PSL 5th Edition broke the shackles and reached the Final.

Besides, both sides are well equipped with Overseas Players i.e. Alex Hales, Chadwick Walton, Wayne Parnell, and Sherfane Rutherford are representing Karachi Kings while Lahore Qalandars has been empowered with Tamim Iqbal, Ben Dunk, Samit Patel, and David Wiese.
