SportsFirst ever Punjab Sports Policy prepared

LAHORE, Pakistan: The first-ever Punjab Sports Policy has been devised and will soon be presented in the Cabinet for approval, the Provincial Minister for Sports, Youth Affairs, and Tourism Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said.

The policy features suggestions for health insurance and endowment fund for athletes in addition to initiatives for their welfare, development, and promotion.

In a statement on Friday, Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti that the Director-General Sports Punjab has given a briefing on the Sports Policy.

The minister said that Punjab’s first-ever Sports Policy has been prepared and ready to be tabled before the Cabinet for its approval.

The provincial minister said that the Punjab Sports Policy will help promote and develop Sports in the province.

Taimoor Bhatti said that the policy also features a suggestion for conducting Sports Period at the school level for Sports promotion.

Furthermore, he said that for the first time, a suggestion has been forwarded to ensure Health Insurance for athletes.

Besides, an endowment fund has also been suggested for national heroes, champions, and legends.
