QUETTA, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that the future of enduring peace & stability in South Asia hinges on the ability to resolve long-pending disputes within the region.

While addressing Officers and Faculty of Command & Staff College in Quetta wherein he paid a visit on Monday, the COAS said that this can be complemented through the meaningful international support and will to take on challenging regional issues.

The COAS said that a well-trained and professionally competent army is a guarantor for peace. He said that Pakistan army with the backing of the nation is one such formidable force.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa emphasized that officers to stay focused on the pursuit of professional excellence and keeping abreast with the latest developments to overcome new challenges.

Dilating upon the COVID -19 pandemic, the COAS said that Pakistan army along with other state institutions will do all to mitigate the challenges faced by the people of Pakistan.

The Army Chief said that only a cohesive national effort shall take Pakistan to progress and prosperity.

Earlier on his arrival at Quetta, the COAS was received by the Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Muhammad Waseem Ashraf and the Commandant Command & Staff College Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum.
