MediaPFUJ condemns fabricated cases against journalists in Sindh

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has strongly condemned the behavior of the Sindh Police, particularly Khairpur and Kashmor police, engaged in lodging fake cases against journalists in these districts.

In a joint statement, the PFUJ President Shahzada Zulfiqar, the Vice President Lala Asad Pathan, and the Secretary-General Nasir Zaidi called for the Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) Sindh government and the Inspector General of Sindh Police Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar to look into this situation.

They said that working journalists are being harassed by police in Gambat Panu Aqil besides other areas of Sindh.

“Cases are initiated, allegedly by the Sindh police on behest of politicians and powerful ministers and the situation needs to be probed immediately,” they added.
