MediaMedia workers to have protective equipment from next week

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has assured to provide personal protective equipment to the media workers from next week.

While addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Friday, she said that these kits will be provided to the journalists visiting Isolation Centers and Quarantine Centers.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the media workers are playing the most effective and vanguard role against Coronavirus and it is our responsibility to provide them the protection. She assured to protect the rights of media workers.

The Special Assistant said that nine journalists have so far been infected with the COVID-19 and they should use the app launched for them so that their difficulties could be addressed.

The Special Assistant said that the media should cooperate with the government in containing the spread of the pandemic.

Dr Firdous said that the media should create awareness amongst the people about the precautionary measures that needs to be adopted to prevent the spread of the virus.
