NEW DELHI, India: The extremist Hindutva ideology has plunged India into unabated violence, and amid the anti-CAA and NRC protests which have gripped various Indian States, the unbridled RSS goons have resorted to bullying, desecrating mosques, and damaging & setting the people’s properties owned by Muslims ablaze.

The violence was further intensified on the eve of the maiden visit of the US President Donald Trump to Ahmedabad, the Largest City in the Indian Western State of Gujarat.

Mostly protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) turned violent in the northeastern part of India’s Delhi City wherein the communal clashes have so far taken 27 lives while further more than 200 suffered injuries.

Besides, a number of Muslim homes and shops have been targeted by violent mobs while mosques have also been vandalized in the clashes.

The situation led to the imposition of curfew by the authorities while 800 additional troops were deployed in Delhi to deal with the violence.

The Indian main opposition Congress party has demanded the resignation of the Home Minister Amit Shah and blamed him for the violence.

Meanwhile, the United Nations expressed concern over the deadly clashes between Hindus and Muslims in Delhi.

In his regular briefing at the UN Headquarters in New York, the Secretary-General’s Spokesman Stephane Dujarric underscored the need for the Indian forces to show restraint and allow the protestors to demonstrate peacefully.

The OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) also strongly condemned organized violence against Muslims in India by the extremist Hindus.

In a tweet, the human rights commission called on the Indian government to protect its Muslim minority in line with its obligations under international human rights law.
