Here’s What ‘National Freelance Training Program’ Is All About

Pakistan Government and Prime Minister Imran Khan have become supremely active in creating programs that support youth and create more employment in the country. First with the Digital Pakistan Initiative and now with the National Freelance Training Program, the government is putting every effort to make education and jobs accessible for all. While this program hasn’t been initiated yet, it has been making waves all over the internet, and people are confused as to what it is actually about.

This is why we are discussing the National Freelance Training Program and what all it entails in-depth today.

Here’s What ‘National Freelance Training Program’ Is All About

WHAT IS NATIONAL FREELANCE TRAINING PROGRAM?

Initially in Punjab, now the government of Pakistan has decided to expand the roots across and introduce this program all over the country in all the provinces and territories. National Freelance Training Program aims to equip the youth of today with the mandatory technical and non-technical skills that will help them work from home and earn. With the skills trending all around the world, this program will be teaching the participants how to acquire them and to get into the freelance market to pitch prospective local and international clients to earn.

This initiative not only teaches the skill but also guides on how to use them to earn. This program will be executed by Punjab Information and Technology Board, which had previously been running the same program but for the Punjab province only.

WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT IN THE PROGRAM?

Owing to what’s required in today’s digital age, the program will be laser-focusing on the following domains:

  • Technical
  • Non-technical
  • Graphics Designing
  • Freelancing

Technical Programs

If you look at the freelance portals from around the world, most of the sites are looking for technical experts with a good command over the knowledge to do the job. Considering this, the first domain is the Technical Trainings where NFTP will be providing people knowledge of the relevant tools required in the tech world. From Php to WordPress, and CSS to SQL, the program will have trainers who have years of freelancing experience in the field to train the fresh lot. Once they graduate, they will be self-sufficient in these areas and will have ample technical knowledge to pitch their services.

Some of the areas include:

  • Web development
  • Introduction to Programming languages
  • Introduction to Databases
  • Theme building and Website development on WordPress

Non-Technical Courses

The second aspect of the program is to focus on non-technical courses that are more focused on the creative mindset and strategies rather than doing the work happening on the back-end. Just like all the businesses around the world need technical teams, they need creative strategists and experts to execute the content that aligns with what they do.

Hence, these courses will be teaching the non-technical aspects of the business. Following are the major aspects:

  • Creating engaging content
  • Digital Marketing
  • Blogging
  • SEO
  • Lead Generation
Graphics Designing

Every business and company around the world need branding. They need a visual representation of their ideology to create an identity that reflects what they do and the values they follow. Without it, people won’t be able to recognize and connect to the business. Therefore, one part of these courses is to focus on graphics designing to bring creativity out of everyone. The modules will include:

  • Adobe Software
  • Creative Logo Design
  • Branding
  • Corporate Identity Kit
Freelancing

Finally, this will focus on teaching people how to become financially independent and becoming their own boss if and when they have the right skill set. It will be shedding light on how the skills can be monetized and on what platforms. The course will include:

  • Computing and basic communications skills
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Building online profiles on freelance portals

NFTP is currently in the phase of setting up, and the admissions aren’t open yet. The classes will be carried out in the universities throughout the selected cities and provinces.
