ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The visiting Egyptian delegation comprising professors and intellectuals met the Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan on Wednesday, and voiced serious concerns over grave human rights violations in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK), and also expressed solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiris.

The Egyptian delegation led by the Head of Urdu Language Department at Al-Azhar University Professor Dr Ibrahim Mohamed Ibrahim and consisting of Mrs Badria Mohamed Ahmed Abdelkagar from Mansuoria University, Hanna Ahmed Bakr Mohamed Abdelrazek, Shahd Saad Mohomed Saad Wasel from Al-Azhar University and Dr Hegazy Rabie Tawfik Ibrahim is in Pakistan on a seven-day visit.

Talking to the delegation, the AJK president expressed gratitude to them for visiting Pakistan and standing by Kashmiris in the need of hour.

Masood Khan said that India is carrying out ethnic cleansing and committing war crimes in the Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in order to force the Kashmiri people leave their native homeland.

The AJK president said that all Indian actions including turning of Jammu and Kashmir State from the occupied territory into an Indian colony as well as bifurcation of the state are not only unlawful and immoral but these are also a violation of international laws and the United Nations resolutions.

Sardar Masood said that the UN Security Council must take serious cognizance of the horrible situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK). He said that under the UN Charter, it is the responsibility of the Security Council to play its role to avert a disastrous war in the region. He said that the international community must act now before it is too late.

The delegation assured the AJK president that they would raise the issue of Kashmir in Egypt and would inform the people about the grave situation being faced by Kashmiri Muslims in IOK.

Separately, the Egyptian delegation also visited the Pakistan Study Center at Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) in Islamabad.
