Islamabad, Pakistan: National Security Committee (NSC) of Pakistan held its meeting to review situation at Indo – Pak borders after Indian army used cluster ammunition along the Line of Control (LoC) for targeting civilian population.

According to Dispatch News Desk (DND) News Agency, the meeting of NSC which was headed by Prime Minister Pakistan Imran Khan was attended by Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, CJSC, Naval Chief and Air Chief.

The civil and military leadership reviewed the situation which arose after Indian army on nights of July 30-31, 2019 targeted innocent citizens including women and children in Neelum Valley through artillery using cluster ammunition.

It is pertinent to mention that India has sent over 30,000 extra and fresh soldiers near Pakistan border and around Line of Control (LoC), separating both sides of Kashmir Valley.

Pakistan while condemning use of cluster bombs by Indian security forces targeting innocent civilians along the Line of Control (LoC) demanded International Community to take notice of it, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.

In a tweet, the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the use of cluster ammunition is a clear violation of the Geneva Convention and International Laws.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that India in its war frenzy is not only sabotaging the regional peace but also committing gross human rights violations along the LoC.

Prime Minister Pakistan Imran Khan heading a meeting of NSC which was attended by Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, CJSC, Naval Chief and Air Chief.

The foreign minister urged the nations of the world to take strict notice of the ongoing situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) and the Line of Control.

National Security Committee (NSC) of Pakistan is supreme body of Pakistan comprising of civil and military leadership for taking final decisions regarding Defence and Foreign Affairs matters.
