The left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Amir’s prospects for his inclusion in the Pakistan squad for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 has further been shrunk after he reportedly has caught chickenpox.

Mohammad Amir was left out of the Pakistan squad for the main event beginning on May 30, 2019 in England. However, he was yet named in the 17-member squad for the England series prior to the World Cup.

His exclusion from the World Cup squad had already triggered concerns that in the absence of an experienced bowler like Amir, Pakistan’s bowling attack in the mega event would look inefficacious.

Though the team management also hinted that Mohammad Amir might find his place in the 15-member squad, depending on his performance in the England series. However, now after Amir has reportedly been diagnosed with chickenpox, he may miss the World Cup as well as the ongoing series.

On the other hand, the Officials of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have stated that Amir has only been ruled out of the third ODI against England, and he would be available for the last two games.

Amir couldn’t bowl in the rain-interrupted first ODI against England at London whereas a viral infection caused his outster from the second ODI at Southampton.
