ASTANA (NURSULTAN), Kazakhstan: A flag hoisting ceremony was held at the official residence of Pakistan’s Ambassador Dr Imtiaz Ahmad Kazi in Astana (Nursultan) on Saturday to celebrate the 79th National Day of Pakistan.

A large number of Pakistani community living in Astana attended the event.

On the occasion, messages of the President and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan were read out.

In his remarks, the Ambassador paid homage to the Founding Fathers and Heroes of Pakistan Movement. He also expressed solidarity with the grief-stricken families of the Christchurch terrorist attack and fateha was offered for the martyred.

The Ambassador highlighted strategic and economic importance of Pakistan by virtue of its geographic location makes it a natural economic hub and energy corridor for the region. These opportunities are coming at the most conducive times when Pakistan is safe and secure.

Ambassador Dr Imtiaz Ahmad Kazi also mentioned that in a new Pakistan under the new leadership Pakistan is making strides towards economic progress. Ambassador also praised the role of Pakistani community playing for the host government. In the end, the guests enjoyed traditional Pakistani food.
