BAKU, Azerbaijan: Pakistani ambassador in Baku Sajid Khan Mohmand has expressed hope that Azerbaijan will denounce the Indian aggression by violating Pakistan airspace.

“Pakistan at all platforms openly supports Azerbaijan, in particular on the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh. We hope that the Azerbaijani side, as one of the important members of the OIC contact group on Kashmir, will make a statement on this issue and condemn the aggression against Pakistan,” the ambassador said according to Azerbaijan’s Report News Agency.

Sajid Khan Mohmand said that “We regard the incident with Indian fighter jets in Jammu and Kashmir as the violation of the territorial integrity of Pakistan.”

“This is an open aggression against an Islamic country, against a sovereign state. We regard it as a violation of the territorial integrity of Pakistan, of its airspace,” the ambassador noted.

The ambassador noted that Pakistan repeatedly urged India to hold negotiations on the Jammu and Kashmir issues but received only negative answers:

“India refuses any conversations with us about Kashmir. India is violating and refusing to implement the UN and OIC resolutions on Kashmir. Rights and freedoms of the Kashmiris have been violated for many years. More than 500 Muslim Kashmiris have been killed in the past few months alone.”

The ambassador Sajid Khan Mohmand said that the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi deliberately uses the situation to earn extra points in preparation for the upcoming elections.
