RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has reiterated Prime Minister Imran Khan’s stance that there is no doubt that Pakistan army will not ever again fight a war for others.

In a media briefing in Rawalpindi on Thursday, the Director General IPSR Major General Asif Ghafoor said that Pakistan armed forces have eliminated the banned terror outfits including Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and now fencing the Pak-Afghan border so that infiltration of terrorists from across the border could be prevented.

Major General Asif Ghafoor said that terrorist incidents have persistently decreased in the Country during the last 15 years, and the security situation in FATA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan has improved.

The DG ISPR said that 44 big operations were conducted under the Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad. He also said that more than 22000 rebels have joined mainstream during three years.

The director general ISPR said that no terrorist incident took place in Karachi in 2017, adding that terrorism decreased by 99 percent in Karachi. He said that the situation will further improve in the future.

In addition, he said that after operations, rehabilitation and development process also began.

Major General Asif Ghafoor said that out of 7000 missing persons cases, 4000 have been disposed off.

Talking about the Indian ceasefire violations, he said that unprovoked firing by Indian troops at the Line of Control (LoC) continues. He said that the ceasefire violation has increased during the last two years, added that India is deliberately targeting civilians.

Asif Ghafoor further said that Pakistani government took several measures for peace. He said that Pakistani government decided to open Kartarpur Corridor for the Sikh Community.
