SportsMohammad Abbas to miss third Test against New Zealand

Having suffered a shoulder injury, the fast bowler Mohammad Abbas has been ruled out of the third Test between Pakistan and New Zealand starting from December 3 at Abu Dhabi.

Even he may miss the upcoming Pakistan tour of South Africa as well in which, the visitors will play three Test matches, five ODIs and three T20Is.

Mohammad Abbas

Unlike the Australian series, Mohammad Abbas hasn’t been much successful in two Tests he played against New Zealand. In the first Test, he picked up just two wickets while in the second Test he went wicketless.

Currently ranked third in ICC Test Bowling Rankings, the 28-year-old Mohammad Abbas has so far played 12 Tests for Pakistan since his debut in April 2017 against West Indies at Kingston.

In his 12 Tests, Abbas has secured 61 wickets with an average of 16.62 taking one 10-wicket haul and four 5-wicket hauls.

In the previous two-match Test series against Australia, Abbas grabbed 17 wickets. Since his first appearance in the longest format of the game, Abbas’ role in Pakistan’s victories has been very instrumental.

The South African veteran fast bowler Dale Steyn also foresaw him to be the World’s number one Test bowler.
