Under the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan, tents are being set up in Lahore on Saturday as temporary shelters for the homeless people sleeping on the footpaths of the Punjab’s Capital.

In a Tweet, the prime minister informed the initiative being taken as per his earlier announcement.

It is worth mentioning that earlier on November 10, Imran Khan laid foundation stone of a Shelter Home Project (Panah Gah) in Lahore for the down-and-out segments of the society who spend nights on the streets under the open sky.

Meanwhile in his previous Tweet today, the prime minister said that he has asked the Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar to set up tents for the people sleeping on footpaths and provide them food until shelters are built.

Imran Khan said that increasingly cold weather has necessitated the move. He further said that spots are also being located in Peshawar and Karachi for setting up shelters there.
