RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Pakistan Army Sepoy Zaheer Ahmed embraced Shahadat (martyrdom) in Thub Sector of the Line of Control (LoC) due to Indian unprovoked firing, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

The ISPR said that Sepoy Zaheer Ahmed belonged to Village Sultan Pur, Tehsil and District Bhimber. It said that he is survived by a widow.

Pakistan Army troops retaliated effectively and engaged enemy’s posts involved in unprovoked firing, the ISPR added.

Over 2312 ceasefire violations committed by Indian forces in 2018

It is worth mentioning here that the Indian forces have carried out more than 2312 ceasefire violations in 2018 along the LoC and the Working Boundary, resulting in the martyrdom of Pakistan army personnel as well as several civilians.

Pakistan has constantly been asking India to respect the 2003 ceasefire agreement and bar its forces from violating it; however, no positive initiative was taken by India as yet.
