NationalRussian authorities grant visa to Fakhar-e-Alam

The Russian authorities on Tuesday morning granted visa to Pakistani singer Fakhar-e-Alam, who is on a 28-day world tour “Mission Parwaaz”.

The 46-year-old Fakhar-e-Alam had landed at Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk City airport, located more than 6000 km away from Moscow, in the wee hours of October 29, 2018 after expiry of his Russian visa. Therefore, the Russian authorities detained Fakhar-e-Alam.

Meanwhile, the first Pakistani circumnavigator also confirmed on Twitter that he has received a new Russian visa.

In a statement issued today, the Foreign Office Spokesman Dr Mohammad Faisal said that “The Ambassador of Pakistan to the Russian Federation as well as other officers of the Embassy remained in touch with Fakhar-e-Alam throughout the day yesterday and kept him, Pakistan government officials and media informed about the efforts made to secure his visa renewed.

We thank the Government of the Russian Federation, in particular the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for their fullest cooperation in renewing the visa of Fakhar-e-Alam and facilitating his short stay at Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.”
