National51-year old civilian martyred in Indian cross boarding firing: ISPR

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: A 51-year old civilian was martyred when the Indian army again resorted to unprovoked firing in Khanjar Sector of the Line of Control (LOC) on Monday.

“In continuation of violation of cease fire understanding, Indian army resorted to unprovoked firing and targeted civilian population in Khanjar Sector of Line of Control (LOC) today,” said the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The ISPR said that a 51-year-old civilian namely Guftar Hussain, a resident of village Jhamra, embraced Shahadat due to unprovoked mortar shelling of Indian troops.

Responding to this aggression, Pakistan army posts retaliated effectively and engaged enemy posts involved in unprovoked fire on innocent civilian population, the ISPR added.

It was the second incident of cross border firing by the Indian troops within a few days as on September 4, a civilian Abdur Rauf lost his life while grazing animals when he became a victim of unprovoked firing by Indian forces in Kotkotera Sector along the LoC.

Subsequently, the Foreign Office summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces.

The Indian forces have carried out more than 2000 ceasefire violations along the LoC and the Working Boundary, resulting in the shahadats (martyrdom) of 33 innocent civilians while injuries to 122 others.
