Islamabad: The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) has managed 433 Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs) in all Districts of the Punjab in last 24 hours, in which 05 precious lives were lost and 327 victims were seriously injured whereas 176 minor injured were provided first aid at the accidents’ site by rescue officials across the Province.
These 433 road traffic crashes affected 90 pedestrians; 264 passengers and 154 drivers. Total 119 RTAs took place in Lahore with 129 victims placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 58 in Faisalabad with 64 victims and Multan at third position with 24 RTAs and 26 victims.
According to the data of Provincial Monitoring Cell of the Rescue 1122, out of total 508 RTA’s victims, 404 were males and 104 females, while age group of the victims show that 85 were under 18 year of age, 296 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 127 victims were reported above 40 years. The vehicles involved in traffic accidents included 347 motorbikes, 48 auto rickshaws, 48 motor cars, 17 vans, 7 passenger buses, 7 trucks, 56 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving vehicles.
