ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has announced a Court Holiday on July 25 (Wednesday) on account of the general elections 2018.

However, the Chief Justice will be available at the Supreme Court of Pakistan Branch Registry in Lahore, said a notification issued on Friday.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has already declared July 25 a public holiday in the Country to enable voters to exercise their right to vote conveniently in the general elections 2018.

The polling will take place on Wednesday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm without any interval throughout the Country.

As per the ECP, a total of 85,307 polling stations – 47,813 in Punjab; 17,747 in Sindh; 12,634 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; 4,420 in Balochistan; and 360 in Islamabad – have been set up across the Country.

Apart from 750,000 polling staff, 4,50,000 policemen and over 3,00,000 army troops will be deployed throughout the Country on the polling day to perform election and security duty.
