Pakistan are set to kick off a new journey for a longer version of Cricket at the Queen’s Sports Club in Bulawayo on Friday following a historic victory in T20I Tri-Series at Harare.
The five-match ODI Series between Pakistan and Zimbabwe will take place from July 13-22, 2018.
In contrast to T20 Internationals in which Pakistan hold top spot in ICC Ranking and just beat Australia in T20I Tri-Series Final at Harare Sports Club on July 8, Pakistan haven’t delivered that good enough recently in One Day Internationals (ODIs).
In 2018, Pakistan – having currently 5th position in ICC ODI Ranking – have yet to clinch a victory in ODIs as so far they have played five matches in the format this year but lost all of them.
However, Pakistan don’t see any potential threat against 11th ranked Zimbabwe in upcoming series.
Since February 1992, both the teams have been face to face 54 times in ODIs. Out of these, Pakistan bagged triumph in 47 ODIs, Zimbabwe won 4, and one match was tied while two ended without any result.
If bilateral encounters in Bulawayo are taken into account, Pakistan won all three ODIs which produced results.
For ODI series against Zimbabwe, Pakistan have recalled Babar Azam, Yasir Shah, Junaid Khan and Imam-ul-Haq as these players didn’t feature in previous T20I series.
