Government of PakistanPM reassures Pakistan’s support for Afghan-owned, Afghan-led peace process

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Caretaker Prime Minister Justice (retd) Nasir-ul-Mulk on Tuesday while emphasizing that there was no military solution to the conflict in Afghanistan, reassured Pakistan’s support for an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace process.

In a meeting with the Afghan ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Hazrat Omer Zakhilwal who paid a courtesy call on him at PM Office in Islamabad, the prime minister expressed satisfaction on the positive trajectory in the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The prime minister stressed the importance of building on the progress achieved, especially in the context of implementation of the Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity (APAPPS).

The Afghan ambassador said that bilateral channel remains the most viable mode and APAPPS would facilitate achieving progress in all areas of engagement.

Hazrat Omer Zakhilwal added that the desire for peace has augmented after the ceasefire amongst all stakeholders for Eid-ul-Fitr and the prospects of making further progress in this regard have amplified.
