PoliticsSooner or later trial against Musharraf will reach its end: Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday said no law could bar a trial against the former military dictator Pervez Musharraf, adding sooner or later his trial would its end.

Talking to journalists outside the Accountability Court in Islamabad, Nawaz Sharif said Musharraf’s trial was an open and shut case that’s why he was not coming to Pakistan.

Nawaz Sharif said an elected prime minister had been appearing before the Court 70, 70 times but a dictator was an absconder. He said on May 12, 2007, Pervez Musharraf himself confessed in an Islamabad public gathering that he had used power in Karachi.

“Such cases can’t be taken back, this has been the case of acute treason,” Nawaz Sharif.

Reacting to the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan’s attendance in the National Assembly on Thursday to pass the FATA-KP Merger Bill, Nawaz Sharif said those who had been cursing the Parliament, took its complete advantage.

Nawaz Sharif said Imran Khan used the word “Laanat”/cursed for the Parliament. He said Imran Khan would himself explain his act and words against the Parliament.
