RAWALPINDI: Pakistan says it desires durable peace in Afghanistan‚ as it is vital for stability in the entire region.
Pakistan held out the assurance during a meeting between Army chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and visiting US delegation headed by Acting Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Ambassador David Pearce‚ which called on him in Rawalpindi on Sunday.
Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani was also present in the meeting.
According to ISPR‚ matters of mutual interest with particular focus on Afghan reconciliation process.
Pakistani side said Islamabad has important role in reconciliation in Afghanistan.
