Government of PakistanNawaz Sharif being politically victimized: Marriyum Aurangzeb

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Tuesday said the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was being politically victimized through incomplete reference.

“We don’t care about political victimization. Which law allows proceedings under incomplete reference?” Marriyum Aurangzeb said while talking to media representatives outside the Accountability Court in Islamabad.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the registration of a new reference against Nawaz Sharif proved that the previous reference was incomplete.

The information minister said the people had announced their decision in Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) public gatherings.

Moreover, Marriyum said the Senate and general elections would be held on time.

Meanwhile, the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and Son-in-Law Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar reappeared before the Accountability Court to face references filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) as per the directives of Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The Court judge Muhammad Bashir after listening the arguments regarding objections over the interim reference, reserved the verdict.

Khawaja Haris, the Counsel of Nawaz Sharif, said the interim reference was filed to target his Client personally. He also said the reference was filed on the basis of Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report.
