Iran fears establishment of Daesh State in Pakistan and Afghanistan

Tehran, Iran: Iranian Intelligence Minister Seyed Mahmoud Alavi expressed fears that terrorist group known as Islamic State (Daesh) is now attempting to find a new shelter after rooting out from Middle East and its new possible destinations can be Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Addressing a Forum here in Tehran on Tuesday, Iranian Intelligence Minister Seyed Mahmoud Alavi stated that Daesh had lost land but it had not surrendered its idea of establishing Islamic State and possible destinations of Daesh are Afghanistan and Pakistan.

It may be noted that Daesh is already present in Afghanistan and fighting against Afghan Taliban to claim land. It is worth mentioning that Daesh is already recruiting people in South Indian state of Kerala and several foot soldiers of Daesh belonging to Indian state of Kerala had been killed in action inside Afghanistan.

Over 13 dead bodies of Indians belonging to Kerala state were recovered from debris when over 90 Islamic State militants were killed by Mother of All Bombs (MOAB) dropped by US forces in Achin district of Nangarhar province of Afghanistan on April 13, 2017.

“IGIL (Daesh) suffered huge losses, but it can move to Afghanistan, Pakistan, to any other country accessible to it,” said Alavi at Forum.
