Astana, Kazakhstan: A delegation of regional experts, political scientists and journalists from Kazakhstan is in Islamabad held meeting with State Minister of for Information, Broadcasting, and National Heritage of Pakistan Marriyum Aurangzeb.

According to official reports, the Kazakh delegation is visiting Pakistan on the invitation of Embassy of Pakistan in Astana, Kazakhstan.

During the visit, the Kazakh delegation, which was composed of specialists from the Eurasian National University, the Kazakhstan Institute of Strategic Studies and members of regional media met State Minister of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb in Islamabad.

The State Minister during her meeting with delegation informed about working of Ministry of Information and about the specifics of regulating the distribution of information in the country. According to State Minister, Pakistan has taken significant steps since year 2013 to ensure freedom of speech and independence of the media.

At the same time, the Pakistani minister noted the existence of authorized bodies for monitoring the press, social networks for propaganda of terrorism, radicalism.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan and Kazakhstan share unique commonality in cultural and wish to integrate and bridge commonality for enhancing friendship between the two countries. Former Prime Minister Pakistan Nawaz Sharif had been visiting Astana and played a great role for developing close relation with Kazakhstan.
