ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah on Tuesday suggested the federal government to contact Pakistan army to end Faizabad sit-in.

Talking to media persons in the Parliament House in Islamabad, Khursheed Shah said that the government should contact the establishment for amicable solution of the fortnight long sit in of religious parties at Faizabad as it is constitutional obligation to resolve the issues collectively.

The opposition leader said that the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is responsible for the prevailing situation. He said a disqualified person running a party doesn’t yield better results.

“We will try our level best to amend the Election Act 2017 Bill in the National Assembly and it is opposition’s constitutional right to legislate,” he said.

Khursheed Shah further said that the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan should avoid doing active politics if he continues abstaining the proceedings of the National Assembly.

“Nation could see what type of attitude being adopted by Imran Khan by abstaining from the proceedings of the House,” Khursheed Shah.

The opposition leader said that Parliament is the supreme institution which could never be wrong as comparing to various rulers who could be at fault.
