RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: A top Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) Commander was killed on Friday when Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan conducted an important an intelligence based operation (IBO) near Turbat, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

In a press release, the ISPR said that the IBO was conducted near Alandur, Abdul Rehman village, Turbat on presence of terrorists.

The IPSR said that as soon the troops cordoned suspected area, terrorists opened fire. During the exchange of fire, terrorist Younas Taukali identified as one of top eight BLF Commanders was killed 20 kilometers west of Bulada and 25 kilometers north of incident site from where 15 dead bodied were recovered, the ISPR said.

Younas Taukali was involved in killing 15 innocent people belonging to Punjab on November 15.

The deceased BLF Commander was also involved in laying improvised explosive devices (IEDs), ambushing FC convoys and killing many civilians including Rehmat Ullah Shohaz (founding member of the Baloch National Movement (BNM) but he later surrendered), Ghulam Jan (Lala Nazir cousin), Akram Hayathuk, Habib Ullah S/O Taher and Saddam.

COAS visits Headquarters Rawalpindi Corps

Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa today visited Headquarters Rawalpindi Corps, the ISPR said in another press release.

During his visit, the COAS was given comprehensive briefing on prevalent situation along LoC/Line of Actual Contact (LAC) and operational preparedness of the formations.

While expressing his satisfaction on operational preparedness and response to Indian ceasefire violations, the COAS said that there cannot be any let up for our preparedness for response against perpetual threat on our eastern border including LoC/LAC.

Earlier, the Corps Commander 10 Corps Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza received the COAS on his arrival at Corps Headquarters.
